AIRTEC are proud to introduce the front mount intercooler upgrade for MQB EA888
Designed to fit all models, this freer-flowing intercooler is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM set up.
Featuring a 60mm core design together with high-flow cast end tanks and lower alloy scoop to force air directly to the core, the AIRTEC intercooler offers much greater surface area, efficiency and volume over standard. Despite this improvement, it fits neatly behind the original bumper, requires no trimming or cutting and can be used with the original hoses.
As with all AIRTEC products, the intercooler was tested back-to-back on the dyno aginist the OEM item. This showed a huge reduction in air charge temperatures over standard.
Stock intercooler temps reduce to an average of 64 degrees and peak at 68 degrees (after 5 back-to-back runs).
With the AIRTEC intercooler fitted,huge drop of 120 degrees with AIRTEC intercooler fitted.
Test car fitted with Cobra cat back exhaust & Revo Stage 1 remap.
A peak power increase of 40 BHP due to the standard VW intercooler being inefficient to cope with the extra heat generated for remapped cars and only designed to the standard 300 bhp.
With the AIRTEC intercooler fitted this brings the intake temperatures down so much to give a huge increase in performance.

With larger internal diameters, less restriction means a smoother air flow and an increase of power.
Smooth larger, mandrel bent hard pipes supplied with Pro Hoses silicone hoses from the turbo outlet to the hard pipe, the AIRTEC big boost pipe kit is designed as a direct replacement of the OEM parts, eliminating restrictions found on the stock charge pipe while allowing enough clearance from engine parts, increasing performance in the process.
